Call for Abstracts Now Open

We are pleased to announce that three Open Special Subtracks proposed by members of the Horizon Europe MAPS project have been officially accepted into the scientific programme of the European Society for Ecological Economics (ESEE) 2026 Conference, which will take place in Ghent from 30 June to 3 July 2026.
The Call for Abstracts is now open, with an extended deadline of 19 December (23:59). Researchers from all backgrounds working on ecological economics, sustainability transitions, modelling, post-growth, and just policy pathways are warmly invited to contribute.

MAPS: open special subtracks
1. OSS6.7 – Exploring Degrowth Societies: Future Scenarios and Policy Mixes
This subtrack, led by MAPS work package 1 members, explores post-growth and degrowth futures, participatory foresight, intersectional justice, and innovative policy mixes for a fair and sustainable transition.
2. OSS8.6 – Challenges of Micro–Behavioural Methods for Macro-modelling and Policy Assessment
Proposed by the MAPS modelling teams, this session examines how micro-level behaviours, social dynamics and political processes can be integrated into macro-modelling frameworks and climate-policy assessments.
3. OSS1.8 – Providing a Good Life for All Within Planetary Boundaries
Organised by colleagues in MAPS work package 2, this subtrack focuses on provisioning systems, fundamental needs, planetary boundaries, and pathways to secure wellbeing within ecological limits.
How to submit
When submitting, please indicate the relevant Open Special Subtrack. Note that each participant may present only one paper at the conference.
